The USA Today has repeatedly published pro-slaughter
articles without regard for the truth.

"If you can't trust the USA Today on this issue, can you trust them on any issue?"
A boycott is in order until they start printing factual information!
Please let them know this is not ok!

I own and operate a small horse boarding stable
and love my  job.  Still after all the years I've been doing this,
I enjoy walking in my barn every morning
and listening to the horses talking to me while waiting for
their breakfast. Then listening to the rustling of  hay
as they push it around, getting the
small pieces of timothy and other succulent morsels
that they like best. I am the "Barn Mom" and
take this responsibility seriously. It's up to me to
keep them as safe as possible ( without bubble wrap)
fed, watered and turned out for exercise. I check them
every day to be sure of no  injuries and
watch their behavior throughout the day for any changes.
They all get a friendly neck scratch and a kind
word whenever I am with them . Many are not mine
but I treat them the way I would want someone
to treat my horses if they  cared for them
when I can't be there.
That's why I'm the Barn Mom

With my own horses and the horses that are boarded
here, there are usually  fifteen horses or more to care for.
I  also help  horse rescues with troubled horses
or foster a horse when I can.

I am not a "trainer" but I do what I can to help them.
The  horses I work with have specific issues
of physical abuse, poor training problems, mental abuse,
spoiled/ill mannered or bad habits to overcome.

Occasionally I work with horses just needing a
little tune-up work  but are not rescues.
I use a lot of natural horsemanship.
My approach when work with horses is cooperation
rather then intimidation.
Every horse is different, what works well on one horse
may not on another so it's important to read the
horse and not be afraid to change a program to
something  that will !

I believe there are no bad horses
but bad/poor and inexperienced handlers.
